General FaQ's that u need to know before Installing Mac os X  

I m not held responsible if u encounter any problems to hardware this blog is only for educational purposes and also i don t take full credit to this guide.I just collected resources from various sites/forums and making a noob friendly guide/FAQ  ..so read on :) 

 

 

So to Install Lion os X u need :

A sandy bridge processor (generally i3/i5/i7 2130 for example with 4 numbers after Intel  i core  ™ series).Its also called as second generation Processors.you can find out more info at intel(dot)(com)
If you have Laptop with First generation Processors generally with Intel Core ™ i5/i7 starting with 4xx generally 3 numbers for example i5 460 m can also be installed.. 

how to find out which processor i have i will make an easy guide if u don t know how :)

A Retail Lion os x Dmg file/thumb drive u can buy it at amazon.com or from apple store or u can download it straight from apple store.

To install Lion os X u must have a  Pre Snow leopard installation i will cover installation of Snow leopard in the next guide.you can also install on to programs like virtualbox,VmWare also and create a retail usb installer.

Q.Is it safe to install Mac os X on to my laptop?
well yes if you install it properly.i would always recommend you to backup your hard drive if you have windows installed. 

Q.how easy is the installation going to be?how long will it take to install?
i know u must be excited :) .It depends on laptop to Laptop..certain Laptops need not need any hacks..press enter and u will be lead straight away to installation some others need tweaking like entering commands as we have in Linux and windows (dos prompt).



Q.Y do i need Snow Leopard? Y can t i directly install on to my Laptop?
The answer is simple.In windows u don t need xp to be installed to upgrade to windows 7 but mac os x has a way of doing things their way.well as we know mac os x is Unix based and is similar to Linux.Lion os x is just an upgrade to Snow leopard so it requires the key components..
There are other ways to install mac os x but will be covered in the next guide :)

Q.I have the installation image file/Lion thumb drive and I am ready to install will all my hardware components work?
the answer is no.It depends on Laptop to Laptop.If are lucky u can get most of things work like i my laptop for example :) i have ethernet,wifi,video,audio most of the stuff work..it might not be the same as in your case..

Q.which Graphics card is better suited?ATi or NviDiA ?
well it depends on the macbooks that came with these graphics cards :) Nvidia is better supported than ATi they generally update drivers for their cards.well not all Nvidia and Ati cards are supported coz of limitations of hardware supported by mac.
