List Of Hardware That Works On Dell Inspiron N5110

 

 

Dell Inspiron N5110 comes with various flavours :) It comes with i3,i5,i7 mine came with i7 2630QM.

So here are certain things that you need to know if you are planning to install Mac Os X whether it is Snow Leopard Or Lion :

• Intel CORE i7  series intel i5 series and i3 series are supported by Mac Os X 
• Intel sandy bridge 3000 graphics card works out of box the reason is that the macbooks that were release late 2011 came out with this graphics card hence its supported :) u can get full res
• Hard disks are supported out of box i have WD western digital u might have different but they all are supported :)
• Lan works with the help of tinkering kexts and DSDT.
• If u have Atheros AR9285 or Dell 1702 wifi b/g/n u are lucky both are same wifi cards but Dell likes to keep them under their closet :) wifi will work out of box but needs a bit of tinkering with DSDT.intel wifi cards are not supported unfortunately so u might need swap cards for atherosAR 9285
• Sound also works but need tinkering of DSDT and kext called AppleHDA to make it work.
•  card reader will also work with installation of kexts 
• webcam for some it might work but for others it might not work as in my case :( 
• touchpad works but no multitouch and zooming :( well there are developments going on if they work will sure update here 
• keyboard.u need external keyboard initially to fake mac os x to think that u r inbuilt keyboard is an external keyboard
• usb 2 works OOB (out of box) usb 3 needs kexts and also works fine :) i do have problems sometimes when i take off my mouse it asks to restart.Its also called a kernel panic.
• Bluetooth works i have not tested it yet but seems to work for me with kexts
